Get to know Jan!

I feel the best way to learn about a tech editor is though talking to them so I did this video for just that reason.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope to talk to you again soon.

TECHNICAL EDITING

TECHNICAL EDITING

PATTERN CONFIDENCE

Let me help you ensure that your customers and test knitters have an enjoyable knitting experience with your patterns.
Want raving fans? How about repeat customers? You need people to have confidence in you and your patterns. You need designs that folks love, patterns they can understand, clear instructions so they don't struggle with or question what something means, and absolutely no errata. You want your customers and test knitters to know that if they choose one of your patterns they will have success.
Let me help you take any guesswork out of your patterns. I focuses on knitting patterns from layout and pattern clarity.
I provide the technical editing services you need. This includes all the usual services such as reviewing the pattern thoroughly and carefully for any errors, verifying that all aspects of the pattern are included, consistent terminology, abbreviations, and capitalization, checking the math, verifying consistency between charts and written instructions, etc.

WHY Me? I'M A knitter and designer too !

Why choose me? I have been in your shoes. I know what its like to put out a pattern and that feeling of excitement as well as that unsure feeling of how your pattern will be received.  When you design a pattern you are putting your heart into something you love, a design you have a connection to that is showing your voice and your style. You want someone who understands this and will keep the pattern true to you.  I would do nothing to change that.
On the other side of being a knitter and have done many sample as well as test knits over the years I know how important clear, organized, clean patterns are to anyone knitting a pattern.

I ask for a $25.00 for accessories (shawl, gloves, socks, scarfs, hats ect)
For sweaters and more complex items I range from baby size sweaters and vest $50.00 to adult that would be $150.00
Of course, each pattern is different, and the length of time will vary depending on the number of sizes, and the complexity of the stitch patterns, etc… And if I have a model on hand to look at, it will generally save some time.
